E1 - E2 BUILDING
Complex for offices, retail and exhibition
The project fits in the frame of the development plan for the urban requalification of the area in-between Garibaldi Railway Station, Isola district and Melchiorre Gioia Avenue.
The building is conceived to host new offices (about 9000 sm) and spaces for retail and exhibitions, mainly related to fashion and design events. Consisting of six floors above the ground and two underground levels, the building counts a gross floor area of about 12.000 sm and reaches the height of almost thirty meters. The aspect is of a regular volume with a continuous façade, modeled to follow the course of the road along the southern side.
The northern façade overlooks the pedestrian square delimitated by the Pelli’s towers, which is connected to the park. Along the southern façade, the building presents a podium, being the street six meters lower than the square; this
podium contains entrances to the building and to the underground parking, as well as entrances to storage and technical rooms; the facade above it is shaded with a brise-soleil system, which gives a vertical rhythm.
The main facades are realized with structural glass and aluminium, while resin is used for blind fronts.
