TORRE RICHARD
Complete retrofitting and renotation of one iconic office building turned into residential tower in Milan
Located at Via Giulio Richard 1, on the historic site once occupied by the Richard-Ginori ceramics works, the project restores and converts a 1970s office tower into a mixed-use building with a predominantly residential character. Rising across nearly twenty floors above ground plus a basement level, the intervention combines a comprehensive renovation of the existing structure with the construction of two new upper floors.
The new layout distributes uses across the building: the lower floors are designated for office use, while the majority of the tower above is dedicated to residential use, and the ground floor is reserved for common areas and neighborhood services. The result is a thoroughly renewed building for the city, one that integrates diverse functions while reactivating an area historically tied to Milan's industrial production.
