ACQUI TEME SPA

Expansion termal complex

The area of the Bagni di Acqui is located outside the city, along the Bormida river, and sees the presence of some historical thermal structures, still in partial use, and a hotel settlement of the 1950s. The project concerns the redevelopment of this area, with the recovery also of the adjacent former Cesare Battisti Barracks, and the strengthening of the tourist-thermal offer.

The set of interventions envisaged by the Tange-Iwakiri Plan (for a total of new built-up areas of around 48,000 square meters) is divided into several phases. The first of these involves the construction of a 4-star hotel with 225 rooms, with an adjacent spa area, in a tower building about 90 meters high; there is also an indoor fun park of 1,000 square meters and a health and recreational center adjacent to the "Carlo Alberto" building.

The latter, which is subject to protection, is designed to restructure and transform into a hotel, with a view to safeguarding the historic-aesthetic value of the building and maintaining its fundamental morphological characteristics.
